Black Forest Cupcakes P&Q

Happy New Year everyone!  Are you ready for some cupcakes?  On January 15th, we will be baking Black Forest Cupcakes found on page 134.  These delicious looking layered chocolate cupcakes have two fillings and a topping!   4. These look awesome! I ended up buying a small travel size bottle of cherry liquor instead of the huge bottle of cherry brandy. Do you think that will make that big of a difference?

I found a travel size of kircsh(cherry brandy) :)....I didn't want to spend over $20 on a big bottle but even the travel size was $6 :O.....I already made the pastry cream but I converted it into vegan and it is yummy! :) Rebecca I think if you just use the juice from the cherries it should be just fine!!!

  8. Rebecca, I think you can absolutely leave out the liquor. Just use the strained cherry juice from the canned cherries straight up or reduce it a little on the stove to strengthen the flavor. I was thinking of leaving the liquor off of some of mine to make it more kid-friendly.

  10. yeah i just set the cut cherries on the cupcakes and it had juice on the cherry and it soaked into the cake and it was pretty good :)
