Hello Baking Divas! It is much easier to manage the Club through a blog instead of an email account. So here it is . . our own wonderful blog community! I will try to keep it interesting with bonus challenges (for those who would like to bake more than once a month), membership points and prizes. Definitely subscribe to the blog for updates and the blog roll.
As for the Club itself, I am very proud of all of the members' active participation in August. Seriously, you guys ROCK. :) The Chocolate Salted-Caramel Cupcakes was a smashing success and it launched our community into other cupcake blog mentions, such as the fabulous Cupcakes Takes the Cake's post. Tres cool!
I am delighted to announce the cupcake challenges for the remainder of 2009:
September 15 - Tracey from Tracey's Culinary Adventures chose Zucchini-Spice Cupcakes on pages 44.
October 15 - Kim from What the Whisk chose Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes on page 236.
November 15 - Karen from Karen's Cookies, Cakes, & More chose Candied Sweet Potato Cupcakes on page 243.
December 15 - Kayte from Grandma's Kitchen Table chose Gingerbread Cupcakes with Cookie Cutouts on page 246. Please bear in mind that the Cookie Cutouts are optional. Feel free to create other decorations for the Gingerbread Cupcakes.
The selections are in the HOLIDAY section of the book. Nice picks, ladies!
Please remember to post on the 15th of each month. DO NOT POST the recipe. I strongly respect authorship rights.
If you have questions, ideas, recommendations, please comment!
Happy Baking! xoxo

ReplyDeleteHi Everyone! I have not been officially accepted to the group, but I sent an email, so hopefully I am on the waiting list! I just tried making the Swiss Buttercream recipe from the book, but I halved the recipe. Sadly, the buttercream was very very thin :( Not sure if it was something I did or if halving the recipe caused the problem. I hope I get in to the group soon, so I can benifit from everyone's skills and expertise! Have fun everyone! I will be following along via your blogs :)
ReplyDeleteHow the heck did I miss this group?? Obviously I need to sign up. Oh Betty... *off to write email*
ReplyDeleteClara @ iheartcuppycakes!
Ha, I've just realised that I've posted my cupcakes a day early. I could have sworn it was the 15th today :p

Is anyone else having trouble finding pumpkin to make the pumpkin patch cupcakes due to the pumpkin shortage? Whole shelf where it belongs in my grocery store was EMPTY!
