I picked this gorgeous ruby red rhubarb from my Aunt and Uncle's large rhubarb patch while vacationing up in Minnesota. If you live in The South like I do (and don't have access to a favorite relative's rhubarb patch) you'll have to check out the freezer section of your grocery store. But don't walk to the store - RUN! I made these three weeks ago and they were DELICIOUS! And don't skimp on the vanilla bean. It really made the sauce. I love to bake cupcakes and so, in an effort to prevent us from eating them all, I am always looking for cute and practical ways to give them away!

I was thrilled to find these adorable cupcake boxes at Michael's! The cupcake boxes come in a variety of patterns. I liked this all-purpose festive box. I thought it went perfectly with my Confetti Cupcakes. They even include a cupcake insert so the cupcakes won't topple over!

If you really want to be coordinated, you can buy matching cupcake liners!

Who wouldn't want to receive a gift that looks like this?

Several months ago, as I was considering joining an on-line baking club, I looked at many of the choices available. After some searching, I was thrilled to find the Martha Stewart's Cupcakes Club. I thought to myself, "Cupcakes? How hard can that be?" Boy was I wrong! I mean, layered cupcakes with frosting and two fillings? Frosting made over a double boiler? Meringue Mushrooms? These cupcakes were turning into a full-time culinary endeavor! And then it donned on me. This book is brilliant! Martha Stewart's Cupcakes is more than just an idea book filled with simple, decorated cupcakes. This book explores the entire cake genre and breaks it down into cupcake-sized bites!

By baking through the entire book (whether the recipe appeals to me or not), I am expanding my knowledge, learning new techniques, and, perhaps, even finding a few new favorites along the way!

Thanks for joining me as we work our way through this book together. It brings me joy to see your beautiful creations!

I just wanted to post and say thanks to Betty for the awesome job she has done this past year running the Martha Stewart Cupcake Club! I have really enjoyed baking these past few months and I am honored that she has put her trust in me in handing over the reigns! Betty, I hope you will continue to bake with us! I am sure most of you out there are extremely busy in 2010! I have been incognito myself due to work and vacation and trying to keep up in general. You are not alone!

Due to popular demand and overwhelming interest, I have decided to do an OPEN membership to all interested cupcake bakers. Meaning, if you would like to bake along and you own the Martha Stewart's Cupcake book, you are a member. How super duper easy is that? I only request that you post a comment that you will bake along with us so it will be easier for us to check your blogs instead of going through the entire blog roll. This would make it much easier to manage for myself and others. Being a Cupcake-Member-Strict-Rules-Nazi was no fun.

CUPCAKE CHALLENGES FOR 2009

Hello Baking Divas! It is much easier to manage the Club through a blog instead of an email account. So here it is . . our own wonderful blog community! I will try to keep it interesting with bonus challenges (for those who would like to bake more than once a month), membership points and prizes. Definitely subscribe to the blog for updates and the blog roll.

As for the Club itself, I am very proud of all of the members' active participation in August. Seriously, you guys ROCK. :) The Chocolate Salted-Caramel Cupcakes was a smashing success and it launched our community into other cupcake blog mentions, such as the fabulous Cupcakes Takes the Cake 's post. Tres cool!

I am delighted to announce the cupcake challenges for the remainder of 2009:
